Chiktraj

Chiktraj is the deity of the residents of Bijapur city, who has historical and religious significance for the residents of the entire Bijapur district. There is a temple of Chiktraj Dev at a distance of about one km on the route from Bijapur to Gangalur. Chiktraj Dev sits in a wooden, 6-7 foot long bamboo shaped. Yatra-Tatra Ganesha, Vishnu, Shiva, Lakshmi, etc., ancient sculptures of gods and goddesses are situated in front of the temple. The fair is organized here on the first Tuesday that comes after Ram Navami of Chaitra Navratri every year.
